Tired of washing out your hummus pot? Sick of sorting through your plastic? Ditto!

Ella, a karaoke-loving procrastinator who lives for Deliveroo, felt the same – until her water bottle washed up in Malaysia. Rather than confronting her demons she takes on the problem of plastic instead. Haunted by her past which she can’t seem to bin, she will do anything other than look at her own life, until life becomes unavoidable.

Come spend an hour not feeling so bad about failing to fix the planet.

A one woman comedy. A take of takeaways, trash, laziness and love.

This is a comedy rooted in something very real: the quiet horror of single-use plastic, and the pressure to be “a good person” in a world where everything is designed to make that nearly impossible. From rinsing yoghurt pots at midnight to feeling judged for plastic-packed meal deals, Single Use explores the mental load of trying to live responsibly in a culture built on convenience – and what happens when that load quietly starts to crush you.

The numbers are stark and unsettling:

    • Only 9% of plastic is actually recycled globally
    • 100 companies are responsible for over 70% of global emissions
    • More than half the plastic now on Earth was produced after 2002, and plastic pollution is on track to double by 2030 – with alarming risks not only to the environment, but to our health, as microplastics accumulate in our oceans, soil, and bodies
