You’ll know Dolly Parton anthem ‘9 to 5′ – originally written for the 1980 film of the same name, which went on to become one of the year’s biggest box office hits and earned Parton an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.

Nearly 30 years later, the story made its debut on Broadway as a stage musical, featuring new songs written by Parton herself. The show transferred to London’s West End in 2019 before embarking on its first UK tour.

9 to 5 The Musical returns for a limited run at selected UK venues in summer 2026, offering audiences another chance to see this hilarious workplace comedy live on stage.

WHAT IS DOLLY PARTON’S 9-5 THE MUSICAL ABOUT?

9 TO 5 The Musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy – three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the women manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?

Inspired by the cult film, this hilarious new West End production is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business!

The musical features a book by Patricia Resnick, the legendary film’s original screenwriter, and an original Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score by multi Grammy Award winner, country legend and pop icon Dolly Parton.
