Giovanna Fletcher to star in Before I Go To Sleep on major UK and Ireland tour

A gripping new psychological thriller is heading to theatres in 2027, as Giovanna Fletcher stars in the world stage premiere of Before I Go To Sleep.

Based on S.J. Watson’s international bestselling novel, Before I Go To Sleep has already made the leap to the big screen in the 2014 film starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth. Now the story is being reinvented for the stage, opening at Richmond Theatre in January before embarking on an extensive UK and Ireland tour through to June 2027.

Fletcher takes on the central role of Christine, a woman whose seemingly ordinary life hides a terrifying reality. Every night when she falls asleep, she loses her memory. Each morning she wakes with no recollection of the previous 20 years – including the man sleeping beside her who tells her he is her husband.

As Christine begins trying to piece together what has happened to her, troubling discoveries start to emerge. Who can she trust? And how can you uncover the truth when every new day wipes away what you discovered the day before?

The stage adaptation comes from Rachel Wagstaff, with Loveday Ingram directing – reuniting Fletcher with the creative team behind the 2025 touring production of The Girl on the Train. Fletcher’s other stage credits include Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and 2:22 A Ghost Story. BroadwayWorld
