Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar heads out on a major UK tour in 2027, starring Sam Ryder in the iconic role of Jesus.
The record-breaking West End production follows engagements at The London Palladium and Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and opens at the Palace Theatre Manchester on 11 February 2027 before visiting venues across the UK.
Told through the eyes of Judas Iscariot, Jesus Christ Superstar follows the final days of Jesus Christ, blending rock, gospel and musical theatre in one of the most powerful scores ever written for the stage.
The unforgettable soundtrack includes “I Don’t Know How to Love Him”, “Gethsemane” and the iconic title number “Superstar”.
Directed by Tim Sheader, with choreography by Olivier Award-winner Drew McOnie and design by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Tom Scutt, this acclaimed production has been described by The Guardian as a “gorgeous, thrilling, heavenly musical.”
